EMS Run Mode
An EMS run mode is the state an energy management system is started in, which decides whether its commands reach real equipment.
Monitoring mode polls every device and records data but issues nothing. Simulation mode runs every task and algorithm against simulated device behavior and writes nothing to real hardware, so a site can be rehearsed before commissioning. Operation mode runs the same stack against the real plant and is the only mode that moves power. Switching between them is a deliberate, logged act by an operator with the right role.
