Commissioning

Commissioning a storage site in an EMS is describing the plant to the software: its devices, how they are wired, which logic dispatches them, what the tariff is, and which systems may read the result.

Done in the right order it is data entry rather than detective work. The site and its devices are defined, communication is proven in monitoring mode, the dispatch algorithms and tariff are configured, the whole plant is rehearsed in simulation mode against modeled devices, and only then is operation mode started against real equipment. Commissioning ends with the first logged setpoint writes and the acceptance test record.
