Data Acquisition System (DAS)
A data acquisition system (DAS) is the hardware and software that polls every device on a solar or storage site and records the readings on a fixed interval with a trustworthy timestamp.
The devices are inverters, meters, weather stations, trackers, transformers, and battery systems. The DAS is the source of record for production, availability, and performance ratio, and it feeds the monitoring portal, the utility, and the incentive program above it. A DAS that polls equipment directly through a logger on site is independent of the inverter manufacturer’s cloud; one that reads a manufacturer API inherits that API’s resolution and terms.
